Last weekend me and my buddy went to see a Colorado Avalanche hockey game. It was the first hockey game we've both ever been to. I had watched a few in sports bars in the past but never made the effort to go to an actual game.

This year we decided we wanted to go to all kinds of sports games and the first of the year was Colorado Avalanche vs Seattle Kraken. I had gotten into hockey as an Avalanche fan but in all of my other sports fandoms I'm a Seattle fan. Soccer with the Sounders, baseball with Mariners, and although I don't watch football I tell people I'm a Seahawks fan. I went in to this game thinking I'd be rooting for the Kraken but they quickly proved why I shouldn't change my team.

The Kraken were playing like they were losing right from the start. They played dirty and violent. I was wearing an Avs hat but had taken it off for a bit to root for the Kraken. By the end of the first quarter I had already put it back on and switched teams. The Avs ended up winning that game 2-0. Real quick reminder of why we stay Avs faithful.
